What our Customers Say About Us

Imperial College London

Royce Deposition Lab

This facility purchased a HEX system for metal sputtering and a HEX-L system for metal oxide sputtering in 2016. These testimonials were given in 2023.

We can put a lot of different materials through the HEX, because it is a small system which we can take apart very easily to clean, and it is simple to maintain. This means we can make it available to all types of students and researchers.

Dr. Peter K. Petrov, Principal Scientist

Almost half of the usage of our deposition systems is made up of the HEX and HEXL.

Dr. Bruno Rente, Facilities Manager

CoatIT

University of Minho

This company purchased a HEX-L system for metal sputtering and a HEX-L system for metal oxide sputtering in 2021. This testimonials were given in 2024.

As a spin-off from the University of Minho’s Physics Department, CoatIT purchased the HEX-L system in 2021, and we couldn’t be more satisfied. The system is user-friendly, delivers a rapid vacuum suitable for deposition, and has consistently met our high standards. Using the HEX-L with DC sputtering, we successfully deposit thin films with soft magnetic properties, achieving excellent homogeneity. These high-quality films are crucial for thermomagnetic energy conversion, playing an essential role in the development of flexible, high-performance thermoelectric devices, particularly for energy harvesting and wearable technology applications.

Dr. Armando José Barros Ferreira Manager

University of Liverpool

Faculty of Chemistry

This faculty purchased a HEX system with TAU-4 “mini” ebeam metal evaporation capabilities in 2020. This testimonial was given in 2023.

We purchased a HEX system in 2020 and we are very pleased with it. It’s easy to operate, fast in achieving a vacuum suitable for deposition and requires little routine maintenance. The modular design and the 4-pocket TAU e-beam allows us to do multiple depositions without breaking vacuum, which streamlined our operation and
allowed us to obtain high-quality substrates. Korvustech customer and technical service has also been very helpful. I would definitely recommend the HEX system.

Au evaporation on freshly cleaved mica for STM. Price of commercial Au slides £44/cm2, price to us £2/cm2. HEX paid itself back in 3 years of use.

University of Florence

Department of Physics

This HEX system with sputtering sources was purhased in 2021. Since that time, these researchers have released over 10 publications mentioning usage of the HEX. This testimonial was given in 2023.

The Korvus HEX system was successfully used to deposit large-area nanometric films (100 nm1μm thickness) of CsPbBr3 and CsPbCl3 on different substrates (amorphous, crystalline , semiconducting, metallic and polymeric). CsPbBr3 and CsPbCl3 are metal halide perovskites of extreme relevance for a large set of applications in optoelectronics, photonics and sensing. Structural, morphological, electrical and optical studies demonstrate the high film quality in terms of homogeneity and optical properties.

Electronic Science and Engineering

This HEX system was purchased in 2019, with RF sputtering capabilities and glovebox integration. This testimonial was given in 2024.

We installed a HEX deposition system with glove box in our lab in 2019. The HEX system is used in our All-Solid-State Thin-Film Lithium-Ion Battery fabrication. Korvus China provide very good service and support.

Dr. Xiaodong Huang

University of Sydney

Microscopy Centre

The Microscopy Centre at the University of Sydney purchased a HEX system with a TAU-4 ebeam evaporator and customised cryo stage/ vacuum transfer in 2022. This testimonial was provided in 2024.

We are a microscopy centre and need to deposit precisely 1-10nm of various metals onto electron microscopy specimens for further processing (FIB/SEM) and imaging. Korvus HEX with TAU e-beam evaporator allows us to achieve this in high vacuum with minimal thermal damage. It is also rare to have a system with very small footprint and flexible process controls that is suitable for a research lab application.

Also one of the major benefits of Korvus is our non-standard customised liquid nitrogen cryo rotary stage and the suitcase transfer feedthrough (both of which is used frequently.)

Dr. Takanori Soto

Academica Sinica

Quantum Ke Lab

Academica Sinica purchased a HEX with TAU (4-pocket Mini E Beam) in 2024. This testimonial was given in 2025.

We appreciate the HEX system’s compact design, which seamlessly integrates with our glovebox. With the professional design and expertise of Korvus’ engineers, the integration was effortless and had no imapact on the glovebox. The HEX has various modules – such as e-beam evaporation, sputtering, and ion milling – expanding our fabrication capabilities. It’s user friendly operation shortens the learning curve, making it easy for students to use.

With the HEX we can fabricate 2D material devices in a controlled environemnt, preventing exposure to air and moisture. It has truly been an invaluable solution to our work.
